What we are about...

Our mission is to be a transforming presence in those areas of the world where the poorest of God’s people are so often forgotten and excluded.

As Sisters of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary, all our communities are communities for Mission. The Christ of the Gospels whom we follow is always to be found in those places where pain, hunger, intolerance and hatred tear apart the lives of people. Our mission calls us to where injustice causes such suffering in our world today. We are particularly sensitive to women and children; people with special needs; and to vulnerable and marginalised people who are denied the fulness of life.

We strive to develop our communities as places of hospitality, where forgiveness and healing are ongoing, and each person’s culture, gifts and talents are acknowledged, respected and celebrated.  In keeping with our Mission Statement we are called to help shape communities of gentleness, justice and peace that witness to the healing, liberating and empowering love of God.
